Abstract

A new method based on the reaction of 4-bromo-1,3-diphenyl-2-buten-1-one with imidazoles and benzimidazoles was proposed to obtain imidazo[1,2-a] pyridinium and pyrido[2,1-b]benzimidazolium salts.
