Abstract

Social media are a direct source of information reflecting the feelings, emotions and concerns of people with diabetes. They provide direct access to the opinions and fears of the active online diabetes community. By analyzing this data using Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods, it is possible to characterize patterns of diabetes-related distress worldwide and better understand the relationships between these psychological factors and the health status of people with diabetes.
