Abstract

The growing number of characterized allergen molecules and their use in clinical diagnosis has led to the creation of several allergen databases fulfilling different needs. Those range from systematic allergen nomenclature to clinical diagnosis, including comparison of biochemical properties and immunological and structural characterization. The databases listed in this brief summary have overlapping features and their individual utility will depend on the needs of the user.
