N2 - With improvements in surgical techniques and implants, hip and knee arthroplasties are now being performed on increasingly younger patients, many of whom wish to return to sports activities. This evolution raises numerous questions for both patients and healthcare professionals. This article presents a review of the recent literature, structured in a question-and-answer format, to shed light on current practices regarding sports after arthroplasty. Two patient profiles emerge: the aging athlete and the athlete still in their career, each presenting specific clinical, functional, and ethical challenges. While sports are not contraindicated after arthroplasty, high-impact disciplines are generally discouraged in order to preserve implant longevity. The key challenge is to provide individualized support based on current evidence, taking into account the patient's expectations, functional status, and the type of activity considered.
