Project Details
Description
The XPOSE DTU is dedicated to exposome and health. It aims to understand how our environment and biology interact to cause diseases throughout our lives. For this, XPOSE will develop novel methodologies for the analysis of the impact of environmental, chemical, nutritional, social, and lifestyle-related exposures on health. Taking advantage of new technological developments, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, the DTU will valorize data from Luxembourg and international studies to get a clearer picture of how the exposome affects us. A particular focus will be put on the modifiable factors, which have the potential to influence the exposure and its effects on individuals and society. The DTU will also train a new generation of exposome scientists who will be able to work across different fields and navigate and generate relevant knowledge in fast-evolving and data-rich environments.
XPOSE is an inter-institutional doctoral training program in Luxembourg coordinated by the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH). It brings together the expertise available at the LIH's Department of Precision Health (DOPH) and Department of Infection and Immunity (DII), as well as, at the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) and the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) of the University of Luxembourg (UL) and at Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER). It has been financially supported over 6.5 years by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) through the PRIDE funding scheme and co-financed via intramural funds from the LIH, UL, and LISER.
