Description
The project main aim is to assess the emergence threat associated with influenza D viruses’ circulation in Europe to pave the way towards development of effective strategies for diagnosis and control of the disease.
The operational objectives of the present proposal are:
(i) Evaluating the diversity, sensitivity and specificityof influenza D detection methods;
(ii) Assessing influenza D virus genetic diversityin Europe;
(iii) Assessing influenza D virus antigenic propertiesin Europe;
(iv) Assessing the risk of IDV introduction in a farm or a country in Europe.
