Murilo graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of Araraquara, Brazil. He continued his academic journey by obtaining both a Master's and Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Rio Claro, Brazil. During his Ph.D., Murilo had the opportunity to visit Helmholtz Zentrum München, Germany for nine months for a collaborative project as a Guest Researcher in Prof. Simon Blank’s group. Murilo’s PhD research focused on understanding the biological and inflammatory impacts of recombinant allergens derived from Hymenoptera venom. In his current role as a Post-Doc in the Translation and Clinical Immunology group, under the supervision of Prof. Markus Ollert, Murilo is investigating the role of Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor 2 (TNFR2) in allergen-specific immunotherapy.
